The Beginning
A Father's Sacrifice becomes a dynasty
It began with love, the quiet, determined kind that asks nothing in return. In the 1980s, Zakariya, a textile merchant from Kerala, India, looked at his six children and made a decision that would change everything. He left behind the life he knew, crossed into the Gulf, and arrived in the sun baked streets of Abu Dhabi and Dubai carrying nothing but his character and an unshakeable will to provide.
He started modestly selling watches on the street, one timepiece at a time. There were no storefronts, no business plans. Just a man, a tray of watches, and the conviction that every second he spent there was a second invested in his family's future back home. People bought from him not only because of what he sold, but because of how he sold it with honesty, dignity, and warmth.
He taught his children something no classroom ever could: that the greatest business is one built on trust, and the greatest legacy is the values you pass down.
The Second Generation
Sons who turned dreams in to destinations
His two Sons, Faizal and Firoz grew up watching their father work. They saw the early mornings and the late evenings. They understood the weight of every watch he sold, and what it meant for their family. When the time came, they did not just inherit a business they inherited a calling.
In 1990, the two brothers opened Timesquare in Abu Dhabi a proper home for everything their father had built by hand. What once lived on a street corner now had a name, an address, and a vision.
In that same year, they launched two brands of their own: Chairman Geneve and Zayed, names that carried both prestige and deep reverence for the land that had embraced their family.
The store grew. Then another. Then more, stretching across Abu Dhabi and into the wider Gulf. Every new location was not just an expansion it was a tribute to a father who once stood in the sun selling watches so his children wouldn't have to.
